Upgrades
What Are Upgrades?
Upgrades are traits that you can use to modify your Folk's appearance! They range from simple to fantastical, and more upgrades are being added all the time. If you're wondering how to apply upgrades to your Folk, please check out our Upgrade Guide.
If you want to remove and/or replace an upgrade currently on your folk, you can use our special universal upgrade, Pop N' Swap! Pop N' Swap can be used on Kits or Adults, and can be applied to any upgrade including extraordinary upgrades. Just keep in mind, it might not be easy to re-apply those!

Types of Upgrades
Each upgrade has a type under its name [ Special, Evolution, Texture, Morph, Augment ]. These types help define what color(s) an upgrade can be when first applied. The Upgrade Guide goes into more detail on these categories, but they are listed below for convenience/reference!
- Special: An upgrade that has its own set of rules. Read them carefully to make sure you know this upgrade’s specific placement, color, and requirement rules.
- Evolution: An upgrade that changes an existing part of your Folk and must remain the colors of the previous upgrade. If an evolved upgrade’s prerequisite was skipped, see its previous requirements for placements.
- Texture: An upgrade that changes or adds texture or shape of your Folk’s body. May only be the color of the placement it grows from.
- Morph: An upgrade that changes an existing part of your folk into something else. Must be the color of the placement it replaces, unless otherwise stated. If the upgrade art has multiple colors, first use existing placements from your folk before adding additional colors pictured in the upgrade artwork.
- Augment: An upgrade that adds something new to your Folk. They may be any color already on your Folk. This can be applied in a solid color or use the number of colors shown in the upgrade art.
