Simply being: if you are discovered to have ideals which have any: racism, ableism, anything against the LGBT+ community, xenophobia or pedophilia/grooming. We will ban you. That's a promise.
Group's Rating and Content Warnings
Grimsby Grove Is A Teen Rated ARPG:
Grimsby Grove is not a family friendly group. We have a detailed content warning in our Newbie Guide, but Grimsby Grove will always have mature and sensitive elements in our story telling as we are a cosmic horror group.
We allow our members if they desire to use similar elements in their storytelling as long as content warnings are placed and proper research has been done to submit such storytelling in our group. We allow any storytelling that is accepted by Deviantart's policies, including storytelling that does not have mature and sensitive elements and topics. We believe that if you are going to take on the responsibility of telling a story with mature and sensitive elements, that you to have the knowledge and maturity to do it with respect and good intentions. As such, we do not moderate member's storytelling outside of situations where the content is not labeled properly, clearly done with malicious intent or is 18+ not safe for work content.
If you find any of the story elements which is told by members or the group distressing or triggering to you, stepping away to process your feelings is always the first step to take. If you do not wish to see such themes, then you can remove your account from the Grimsby Grove group and stop participation at any time.

Our Golden Rule
Be Kind To Each Other:
Remember how you treat others is a reflection on how you wish to be treated, and that how you treat others will always return back to you while you are here. Be excellent to each other! Always treat everyone with respect while you are here. Remember that Grimsby Grove is first and foremost a game which others, including yourself, should have fun in.
Always be mindful that there are others in our community who just want to use Grimsby Grove as an escape from their lives and do your part in keeping Grimsby Grove fun for everyone by doing the following:
- Be mindful of the content you are discussing in our community. While we do allow sensitive and mature themes in the storytelling of our group, this is not a free pass to openly discuss sensitive topics within our community without warning. Avoid openly discussing sensitive topics without warning or permission from those present in the conversation.
- No one within our community is entitled to read or see conversations they are uncomfortable with or discuss topics which are uncomfortable for them just because you wish to hold a conversation. If someone asks to stop or drop the conversation, respect the person's wishes and move the conversation to private messages outside of our community.
- Avoid giving unsolicited criticism of someone's story, characters and artwork. Unsolicited discussions or criticism can make others upset and feel uncomfortable with interacting with Grimsby Grove as a game. It can also return back to you as a player if it is left unchecked. Remember if you don't want it to happen to you, then you should not do it to others!
We expect every member, staff included, to follow this rule especially as it helps keep Grimsby Grove a fun ARPG for everyone! If you do not follow this rule especially, it would be considered harassment and bullying under our 0 tolerance policy. Which means that depending on the severity or how often this rule break happens, it will result in a permanent ban from our group.
Behavior In Our Group
- Respect Staff Members: Our staff team works within this group in a volunteer basis to ensure that everyone, including other staff members, have a fun time within the group. Everyone deserves to be treated with basic respect, and any bullying or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated. Especially towards the staff members who wish to help you. Staff are always up for a discussion, suggestions and questions on things which should to be changed and or their decisions if you are confused. If you feel that you've been unjustly talked to by a staff member, please use our report form within #front-desk channel on our discord to get in contact with our staff members about any issues.
- Hate Does Not Belong Here: We have a 0 tolerance policy for any words said with the intent to hurt others. This includes but is not limited to: racism, ableism, anything against the LGBT+ community, or xenophobia of every kind. If any of these actions are presented while you are here, you will be banned.
- Avoid Negativity While You Are Here: We ask that you do your best to avoid talking negatively about the following- other people, other species groups, artwork etc. We're here to support each other and have fun! Not dwell on the things that upset us or make others upset. Criticism of the group itself is allowed in our #general-suggestions channel on discord, use or open a ticket located in the #front-desk channel in Mod Corner!
Artwork In Our Group
- Each Piece of Artwork You Submit To The Group Must Be Drawn By You: It's that simple, do not trace! Only use references with credit to the original artist who posted them. Collaborations are fine as long as you place effort in the work. Bases should be used as minimally as possible. Do your best to ensure that each artwork placed in the group is your own and not anyone elses.
- Make Sure Your Art Is Submitted To The Group: If you want to count your artwork for acorns, or if it's being moderated by staff for whatever reason, they should be in the group! This includes if you made a commission for someone else and want to count it for acorns.
- Don't Delete Artwork: Artwork that is made for Grimsby Grove must never be deleted from DeviantArt as it’s used to keep track of your progress within the group. This also includes applications, once you delete a application your Folk basically does not exist.
Things To Remember
- Do Not Block Any Staff Members: We highly discourage blocking any staff members due to the fact that it hinders our ability to do our jobs at Grimsby Grove. This includes slowing down the processing of any mechanics for you as a member as Grimsby staff divides our labor differently than most groups. If you have an issue with any staff member, please privately contact the group's founder MURD3RMYST3RY on discord. We care about the comfort of our members and we will try our best to help work through any issues you may have.
- Allow Staff To Answer Questions: We understand that you may want to be helpful, however staff have a more intimate understanding of questions which may be asked. Please only answer if you are 100% sure about the answer, but if you are not, allow staff to answer.
- Do not DM Staff about Group Matters Without Permission: Not all staff members are available at the time you DM them. Our staff team is made up of college students and full time workers who are working on a volunteer basis. Only DM staff about group matters when they invite you to do so after asking publicly. It's better to ask questions to the Grimsby Grove server or open a ticket within the Grimsby Grove discord server about serious matters.
